Gin Rin Shiro Utsuri

by Omosako

Omosako koi farm has to be the most famous breeders when it comes to shiro utsuri. The typical traits of his shiro utsuri show a fairly plain, young koi, but as the fish matures, the sumi starts to appear in places you could only imagine, and the fish really start to transform. I personally enjoy shiro utsuri, as they are an interesting variety, always keeping you guessing, as patterns can develop within a matter of days, and also with different water conditions. When the temperatures start to drop, you should expect to see a rise in sumi. One thing to note with these is the shiroji, as the image doesn’t do it justice, the white ground is pure and really sets off against the ink black sumi.
