The Thermotec Apex Inverter Vertical Heat Pump is a high-efficiency, compact swimming pool heat pump designed for reliable performance in a wide range of climates. Featuring Full Inverter technology and a Mitsubishi compressor, it delivers powerful heating and cooling while maintaining low energy consumption and ultra-quiet operation.
With integrated Wi-Fi control, advanced safety protection systems, and a titanium heat exchanger, the Thermotec Apex is ideal for residential swimming pools requiring efficient, year-round temperature control. The unit uses R32 refrigerant and is designed for outdoor installation only. For greater control over performance and energy consumption, the heat pump offers two output settings. In Power Mode, the models deliver up to 8kW and 11kWof heating output, while Normal Mode reduces the output to 5kW and 8kW for more economical day-to-day operation.

The Thermotec Apex is suitable for pools up to 35m³ under ideal conditions. However, for typical UK use, we recommend sizing more conservatively to ensure consistent performance throughout the season.

9. Electrical Requirements on the Thermotec Apex Inverter Vertical Heat Pump.
The Thermotec Apex operates on:
- 220–240V / 50Hz single-phase power supply.
For safe installation:
- The unit must be connected to a dedicated electrical supply.
- A 30mA RCD (Residual Current Device) protection is required.
- The unit should be protected by a suitable D-curve circuit breaker.
- The heat pump must be properly earthed.
- Electrical installation must comply with local wiring regulations and be completed by a qualified professional.
The power cable must be suitable for outdoor use and sized appropriately for the installation distance and electrical load.
10. Water Connections.
Standard 50mm water connections. Designed for installation with rigid PVC pipework.
Recommended water flow:
- Apex 8: 3.45 m³/h.
- Apex 11: 4.74 m³/h.
Includes:
- Water pipe joints.
- Drain connector.
- Drain pipe.
- Rubber mounting pads.
For optimal performance:
- Maximum recommended pipe distance between pool and heat pump is 10 metres.
- Adequate water drainage should be provided for condensation.
- A bypass kit is recommended during installation.
11. Installation of the Thermotec Apex Inverter Vertical Heat Pump.
Installation is straightforward, and we’re happy to guide you through the process. If you prefer, we can recommend a trusted installer to carry out the installation for you, ensuring your heat pump is set up correctly and ready to perform at its best.
We recommend that a bypass is installed to allow the heat pump to be drained in winter if not in use. We sell bypass kits if required.

13. Warranty on the Thermotec Apex Inverter Vertical Heat Pump.
The Thermotec Apex heat pump come with a 2-year warranty on all components and 5-year warranty on the compressor and heat exchanger:-

Europe and Outside the UK: Warranty is parts only warranty or return to us in the UK (customer pays transport cost). If spare parts are required, they will be sent free of charge to a UK address. If they are to be shipped outside the UK, the customer pays the international shipping cost.
We recommend that you retain the pallet and packaging that the heat pump was delivered with in case you need to return the unit to us for repairs under the warranty.
The warranty will not apply where the heat pump has been installed incorrectly, or has been damaged by freezing.
